About the event
Come to Gibson's gym on Wednesdays at 12pm for Chair Yoga! Arrive a few minutes early to get set up. The fitness center does not provide mats. Please bring your own rubber or other anti-slip mat. You must wear proper gym shoes around the building but are encouraged to go barefoot for this class. If you have compromised immunity, the instructor is happy to wear a mask, but it is currently not required of the clientele.
Ideal for anyone whether starting out with a yoga practice, returning after time away, or for advanced practitioners who recognize they can benefit from asanas at a slower pace. Chair Yoga helps people unable to stand for extended periods or people with limited mobility. A Chair Yoga class can be a gentle or challenging as just about any other modality of western yoga. We do seated and standing postures (asanas) and vinyasas (sequences). The chairs are often used like a railing or barre.
